Nice job! Fun, spooky, simple, caught me off guard the first time I saw the rest of the family. They definitely need some more sun. Had a good little time, keep it up!
A visual ode to "The Haunting Of Hill House", yet not enough to sustain a good gameplay.
This grabbed my attention a while back. I was trying to play the game, but for some reason it kept crashing. Finally, got the hang of it and I have to say, I was not disappointed, but at the same time, I was not hugely entertained. Even thou, I do understand the limitations of the "jam" and I do respect the hardest work that was put into making this good game, I still wanted more and I was left with many questions.
The visuals of the game are splendid. I liked the story as well, with the mother and the main character. The sound design was moderately soothing, although the main theme kept on going and it kind of irritated me a bit, after a while. The characters, the mechanics were well put together. But, my main complaint about this was the progression, specifically the use of the flashlight, the secret messages that sometimes went nowhere and the simplicity of - just open the basement door and you get an ending. I think, the direction of the game was poorly executed and I would assume, with time, it can get updated, if not, that's fine too.
Overall, good experience. Best of luck, entire team, with future projects.
P.S. The look of the father could have been similar to other characters, because for me, it looked like I had to avoid him, when in fact I spent 8-10 minutes walking around them.
Thanks for the extended feedback, and we do agree on a lot of your points with the game. We plan to update the game after the jam is over and the voting is closed. Thanks for your interest and your other compliments about our game as well!
Loved the gameplay and great feedback. We will most likely update the batteries in the patch after the submission period. (
But you were very close and your thoughts are on track if you want to try and get that second ending) :))cool
thank you and thanks for playing : )
Edit: Haha, we basically posted each other's feedback at the same time, amazing :D
This was really neat, the character design is very cool, very disturbing and I liked the story and the puzzles, it made for two fun playthroughs.
I think the writing is a little bare-bones or rather, it feels like it was translated or written by someone who is not fully fluid in English. But that’s a small thing overall, I really enjoyed the game (I am heckling it a bit in my playthrough but that’s quite playful, I really liked the second ending storyline).
Good gameplay and good feedback, thanks for taking the time to play our game :^) Your video was very insightful as well !
very good aesthetic, and good story line
great job with this one ! looking forward to the next!
Thank you for playing and for your feedback, great to see you enjoyed it :)
Fairly interesting game for sure. I like how if you want the good ending, you have to use the blacklight. I kinda wish those empty rooms with not much in them were used a bit more. Beyond that, keep up the good work.
Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/@Levont
Fun gameplay, thanks for playing
Very well done! Is the secret ending supposed to not trigger after you have the *Spoilers Ahead For Anyone Reading, Stop Now*
tinder and the jerry can?
Thank you for playing!
*minor spoiler/hint ahead*
There is a secret ending, but there are more than two requirements needed to get it.
Maybe one more *teensy* hint? Pretty Please? I'm determined lol
If you search for Seclica on YouTube there are actually a couple of gameplay videos out now. Both endings are represented there.
